So, CKC-Charlotte was last weekend and I was only able to attend the Friday festivities. I did volunteer on Friday morning from 8-12 and I was assigned to a Creating Keepsakes classroom with Meghan. She was super cool and the classes she taught were cool. I did learn a few tricks with making paper flowers. I will be sure to post them whenever I make them. I also was able to take a 'Masking & Misting' class sponsored by Studio Calico. I was excited to learn some new techniques. I have had the glimmer mist just sitting on my desk but never used it. While the owner was super cool and nice, the class was just "ok". I think maybe if more time was spent on discussing and demonstrating the techniques than on advertising the kit club, it would have been a better class. So, in this class we made 2 pages and masked and misted on both. Here are my class pages:
The vendor faire was just "ok" too. Most complaints that I heard was that it seemed to be "smaller" as in fewer vendors. I mostly purchased chipboard. I think I spent most of my time paying attention to what seemed to sell the best. I did do one make-n-take because I absolutely LOVED this paper. It is by Best Creations. I had never heard of this company before I saw this paper. I think I am a fan. They love epoxy and glitter and so do I!!! Here is the make-n-take....from this photo, it looks as though the butterflies are made on the paper but no, they are actual embellies that I had to adhere to the paper. Isn't it just too pretty?
Until next time....toodles..
